Frontier Harley-Davidson, Blaze 104.1 and the Red Cross gear up to save lives
OMAHA, Neb. (June 26, 2008) – Get your motor running and join Blaze 104.1 and the American Red Cross on Thursday, July 3rd for the Bleed for the Blaze Blood Drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Frontier Harley-Davidson on 205 NW 40th Street in Lincoln.
All presenting blood donors will receive a free t-shirt and have a chance to win one of five $20 gas cards which will be given out every hour during the drive. Donors will also enjoy free hotdogs and soda being served out of the Cornhusker Chapter Red Cross’ Emergency Response Vehicle.
“Summer can be a difficult time to collect enough blood to meet the needs of patients because many donors forget to schedule their appointments because of vacation travel and summer activities,” said Dr. Ram Reddy, Interim CEO of the local Red Cross Blood Services region. “It’s important that eligible blood donors find the time to donate blood during the summer months.”

The average blood donor gives less than two times a year. It’s important to remember that you can donate whole blood every 56 days. The need for blood is constant, give a little of yourself and donate blood. When you give blood to the Red Cross, you can change a life, starting with your own.
How to Donate Blood

About the American Red Cross
Governed by volunteers and supported by giving individuals and communities, the American Red Cross is the single largest supplier of blood products to hospitals throughout the United States. While local hospital needs are always met first, the Red Cross also helps ensure no patient goes without blood no matter where or when they need it. In addition to providing nearly half of the nation’s blood supply, the Red Cross provides relief to victims of disaster, trains millions in lifesaving skills, serves as a communication link between U.S. military members and their families, and assists victims of international disasters or conflicts.
